After taking over a well-established neighbourhood market, the client wanted to refresh and revitalize the previous owner's branding and draw in a new customer base with made-to-order smoothies, juices and sandwiches. Sunshine is home to only the freshest, Ontario-sourced, organic ingredients and unique gluten-free and organic food products. Clean geometric elements paired with a subtly hand-crafted style of typography came together to form the logo and word mark for the brand. It was important to incorporate the sun as a representation of the brand, and so to keep things modern and fresh I took a minimalist approach. Graphic elements on the menu and signage are composed of typographical symbols to reinforce a handmade, craft-like quality. The website is lean and simply provides users a small about section, along with the address and map link, hours, menu, and the ability to click-to-call the shop.
